The department of Aerospace Engineering’s Consulting Committee will be convening on 3 April, 2014
As part of the strategic development plan for the next 5 years, the department has assembled a Consulting Committee, consisting of senior representatives from the industry, army, and government in the fields of Aeronautics and Astronautics, in order to get their input on the department’s activities in various fields.
The committee was asked to address many topics, including: teaching (B.Sc. as well as advanced degrees), basic and applied research, industry relations, and the departmen’s academic development plans. The committee members will also be able to address other related topics as well, as they deem fit.
To facilitate the committee’s work, the committee has received extensive background material about the department’s activities and performance. The committee has already met with the dean, Prof. Yaakov Oshman, and the academic coordinator, Prof. Tal Shima, on 12 March, 2014, for initial preparation and coordination. The kickoff meeting was held at the offices of the Israeli Computational Fluid Dynamics Center (ISCFDC) in Caesarea (courtesy of Dr. Yuval Levy, company’s CEO, and its workers, who provided a perfect and familial hospitality).
The committee will visit the department on 3 April, 2014. It will meet with faculty members and visit the department’s research labs and facilities. At the conclusion of its work, the committee will provide the department with a report, summarizing its conclusions and recommendations.
