We invite applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks.

The Aerospace Engineering Department at the Technion is dedicated to the creation and expansion of ideas and knowledge in the aerospace sciences and is committed to fostering interdisciplinary research that can address the grand challenges facing our society.

Founded in 1954, the AE Department at the Technion is the only academic entity in Israel dedicated to cutting-edge research and education in the aerospace sciences. Enrolling around 400 undergraduate and 150 graduate students, the department serves a strategic role for the nation, maintaining Israel’s position as a leader in the global aerospace industry. The AE Department’s research and educational achievements are also recognized globally, with the department currently ranked 25th in the world according to the 2023 Shanghai Ranking.

The department seeks individuals with outstanding potential for research who will provide inspiration to students and other faculty members, contribute proactively to both undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and add to the professional diversity of the academic community. Exceptional candidates will be considered for all technical areas and at all ranks.

Of particular interest are tenure-track applicants at the lecturer and professor assistant ranks in the following scientific disciplines:

  • Multi-disciplinary Design & Optimization
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (including reacting flows)
  • Computational Solid Mechanics
  • Structures and Structural Dynamics
  • Manufacturing Technologies
  • Orbital Mechanics and Attitude Dynamics
  • Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics and Fluid Mechanics (including multiphase flows)
  • Laser Diagnostics for High-speed or Reacting Flows
  • Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Robotics
    Faculty position in the area of guidance, navigation, and control 
  • Data sciences, Signal processing, and Machine learning

Based on the developmental vision of the department, it is preferred that the candidates active in the aforementioned scientific disciplines will pursue applications among the following themes:

Candidates will be expected to conduct independent world-class research, supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses and acquire external research funding. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent.
