Technion President, Prof. Peretz Lavie, has appointed Prof. Gurfil to head the Asher Space Research Institute (ASRI) as of January 1st, 2015. ASRI is an inter-departmental research institute dedicated to advancing the knowledge and practice of space science and engineering. Prof. Gurfil has been serving as Principal Investigator on the SAMSON satellite mission, which is ASRI’s flagship project.
