 t: \n Details: \n An emerging goal within the aviation industry is to repl
 ace conventional jet fuel with alternative fuel sources. However\, the com
 bustion properties of these potential fuels must be thoroughly characteriz
 ed before they can be considered as replacements in turbomachinery applica
 tions.  Furthermore\, alternative fuels are developed in order to meet ex
 isting fuel standards and\, therefore\, will not require modification to e
 xisting vehicle fleets.\n Opposed jet system is well-suited to evaluate t
 he similarity of alternative fuels to conventional jet fuel. Design and ma
 nufacturing of versatile turbulent opposed jet combustor serves as a test 
 bench and can perform tests to evaluate the combustion properties of conve
 ntional gaseous and liquid jet fuels\, and alternative fuels. This researc
 h provides a guideline towards performances of different fuels based on ce
 rtain parameters.
