Shock buffet involves shock oscillations and boundary layer separation and re-attachment without any structural excitation. As the shock-buffet oscillations occur at low frequencies, close to the structural natural frequencies of aircraft wings, it excites a structural dynamic response that might result in unstable fluid-structure interactions (FSI). Our research explores the nature and characteristics of shock-buffet on 2D and 3D configurations, aeroelastic interactions at transonic flow conditions where shock-buffet exists, and flutter envelope determination at these conditions.
