Dynamic Buckling of Nano-Beams

In the present study, a generalized nonlocal beam theory, based on the nonlocal equations of Eringen and Timoshenko type beam, is presented to study the buckling and free vibrations of nano-beams. Then the influence of the axial compression on the natural frequencies of the nano-beams is investigated.
The influence of the nonlocal parameter on the buckling loads, natural frequencies and load-frequency relation is then evaluated.
Finally the nonlinear equation of motion of a nano-beam being impacted by a pulse type axial compression load at one end is solved to yield the dynamic buckling of a nano-beam.
