Testing of Air to Air Missiles by Rafael
The seminar is jointly hosted by the Department of Aerospace Eng., Technion – Israel Institute of Technology; Israel Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics; and The Association of Engineers, Architects and Graduates in Technological Sciences in Israel.
Rafael has a long legacy of Air to Air missile development. The seminar will define the air battle, describe the generations of Air to Air missiles developed by Rafael, and go into the methods of testing those missiles.
A description of the Rafael Test Range will be given, and the methodology of the air to air testing will be discussed. The means to carry out the tests will be shown, including the Missiles, UAV targets, the Test Range and its instrumentation such as the Radar, Optical equipment, Telemetry, Meteorology Logistics, as well as the different units that take part in the tests.
Examples of Telemetry Outputs will be shown and trouble shooting will be discussed.
