The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Technion is dedicated to the creation and expansion of ideas and knowledge in the aerospace sciences, and is committed to fostering interdisciplinary research.
The AE Department, enrolling around 400 undergraduate and 150 graduate students, serves a key role in maintaining Israel’s position as a leader in the global aerospace industry. The Aerospace Engineering Department’s academic achievements have been recognized globally, with the Department currently ranked 25th in the world according to the 2024 Shanghai Ranking.

The Aerospace Engineering Department seeks individuals with outstanding potential for research and teaching, who will enrich the professional diversity of the academic community. Of particular interest are tenure-track applicants at the assistant professor level. However, exceptional candidates will be considered for all ranks.

- Guidance, navigation, control, and autonomous systems
- Astrodynamics and space propulsion
- Aerospace structures
- Combustion and propulsion
- Aerodynamics
- Fluid mechanics
- Aeroacoustics
- Heat transfer
Special emphasis on the following key areas:
- Sustainable Aerospace Engineering
- Artificial Intelligence-Driven Aerospace Engineering
- Advanced Design
- High-Speed Aerospace Vehicles
Candidates will be expected to conduct independent world-class research, supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses, and obtain research grants. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering or related fields.
