- Space Engineering and Astronautics
- Advanced Structures and Materials: Fracture Mechanics and Structural Health Monitoring; Modern Materials for Aerospace Applications; Flexible Space Structures; Structural Dynamics
- Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics and Fluid Mechanics (including multiphase flows): Experimental, Computational (CFD), and Theoretical
- Multi-Disciplinary Optimization
- Propulsion and Combustion
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, general engineering, or an allied field, with a proven record of research excellence. Candidates at all ranks will be considered, but applicants for junior faculty positions are particularly encouraged.
The department of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion is the only one of its kind in Israel. It is ranked 25th in the world, according to the latest Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities. Its vision is to be an aeronautics and astronautics academic hub, of world-class, dedicated to creation, expansion, and dissemination of ideas and knowledge in aerospace sciences and engineering. With a mission to educate scientific and technological leadership, and conduct cutting-edge research, for the advancement of aerospace sciences and the national aerospace engineering industry, the department currently has about 350 undergraduate students and 170 graduate students. There are currently 23 full-time faculty members and 20 adjunct lecturers from the industry.
Candidates will be expected to conduct independent world-class research, supervise graduate students (and postdoctoral researchers), teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses, and acquire extramural research funding.
