On 29 October, 2014 the Technion held a reunion of the 1964 class of Aeronautical Engineering (as the department used to be called then) graduates. This was our seventh graduating class, and it included 25 students who received B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering that year.
The festive evening opened with a friendly welcome reception and the graduates, now mature, highly experienced (some retired) aeronautical engineers gathered for a new and updated “graduation class” picture. Mrs. Pnina Ziv, CEO of the Technion Alumni Association, and Prof. Yaakov Oshman, Dean of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, greeted the Alumni.
Mr. Moshe Arens, Israel’s former minister of foreign affairs and minister of defense, an aeronautical engineer himself and a former faculty of the department of aeronautical engineering, who also taught these alumni at the time, has attended the reunion, greeted its participants and enjoyed meeting with his former students.
Some of the alumni served as aeronautical engineers in the Israeli Air Force and retired in high ranks. Many of them worked in the Israeli Aerospace Industries Ltd. and in several other defense-related industries. Some of them still work and provide consultancy services to these industries today. Four of the alumni served as professors in the academia, and three of them retired in recent years from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
