We are thrilled to share that Assoc. Prof. Beni Cukurel has been elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in recognition of his outstanding engineering achievements. Prof. Cukurel’s work deepens our understanding of complex aero-thermal physics in coupled flow solutions, specifically in turbomachinery and high-speed propulsion, and is instrumental in advancing scientific knowledge in these areas.
Assoc. Prof. Cukurel’s extensive research is particularly impactful in applications such as micro-gas turbines for propulsion and power generation. His recent focus areas, including micro-turbomachinery, multi-disciplinary system-level optimization, design for additive manufacturing, unsteady aero-thermal flow interactions, active noise cancellation via thermo-acoustics, combustion of carbon-free sustainable fuels, heat recuperation, and measurement technique development, showcase his dedication to pushing technological and sustainable boundaries.
