Three of the faculty’s lecturers were credited with “Excellence in Teaching” for spring term 2023: Prof. Emeritus Yaakov Oshman, who teaches Estimation Theory, Dr. Yoav Baumgarten, who teaches the course on GPS Navigation Technology, and Dr. Yuval Levy, who received a certificate of Significant Excellence for leading a course and workshop on “Computational Aerodynamics”.
Prof. Emeritus Yaakov Oshman, who began his career as a faculty member over three decades ago and also served as the faculty’s dean, explains the meaning of teaching for him, and the key to excellence in teaching while winning the sympathy of the students: “I enjoy teaching. There is immense satisfaction in seeing the sparks of understanding in the students’ eyes, especially when it comes to complex and advanced study material. Passing on knowledge so that they understand it and use it correctly is a significant source of pleasure.”
