Michael Karp is one of two Technion Ph.D. students who won the prestigious excellence scholarship from the Wolf Foundation. Michael is currently a student in the direct Ph.D. track under the supervision of Prof. Jacob Cohen. His research is on flow instability and transition to turbulence, with an emphasis on clarifying the physical mechanism of transition using simple, analytical based models. The research focuses on understanding the transition processes in flows that are linearly stable to infinitesimal disturbances, e.g., wall-bounded shear flows.
Michael Karp, currently a Ph.D. student in the Aerospace department, has won the excellence prize from the Wolf Foundation.
