After seven years of construction, the renovated facilities of the Turbomachinery and Heat Transfer Laboratory located at the Jet Engine Building were inaugurated on December 24th, 2019. The lab is a division of Technion’s Turbo and Jet Engine Center, led by Assoc. Prof. Beni Cukurel. The festive event included a speech given by the retiring Dean, Prof. Itzchak Frankel, ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the laboratory.
The Turbomachinery and Heat Transfer Laboratory conducts basic and advanced research while combining theoretical studies and experiments. The lab aims to conduct cutting-edge research and advanced development in the field of gas turbines for propulsion and power generation applications. Our research activities are supported by a vast range of laboratory equipment accessible to provide service to the industry and academy.
Many of the conducted studies are done in collaboration with local and international partners from the industry, research institutes and universities and are funded by organizations such as the EU and local and foreign government bodies.
You are invited to watch the speech given by retiring Dean, Prof. Itzchak Frankel.
