The Faculty Council elected Prof. Tal Shima, Dean of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, for an additional two-year term.
“I thank the faculty members for trusting me once again. As I pledged with my election two years ago, the main goal we face is to keep strengthening the academic excellence of the faculty in addition to tightening the collaboration with the industry,” said Prof. Shima.
During the last two years, Prof. Shima has led a number of significant processes aiming to advance the faculty, including formulating a strategic development plan, raising a naming donation, improving research and teaching infrastructure, establishing a new curriculum with the faculty of Physics, and recruiting new faculty members.
“The second term will be an opportunity to continue to advance the goals we have set. Our achievements so far are the result of the work of all faculty members, and the strong support we have received from the Technion management. We look forward to making progress with the faculty’s development and growth process.”
