The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, the Technion, is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Daniella Raveh as the new Dean, effective 1 January 2024.
Prof. Raveh’s appointment marks another significant milestone for the faculty and the Technion, as she is an alumna who became a respected researcher and a faculty member. Prof. Raveh completed her studies in aerospace engineering with honors, completed her master’s degree and doctorate at the faculty, and later, as a faculty member, established her position as a leading researcher in the field of aeroelasticity, and a popular lecturer among the faculty’s students.
As Dean, Prof. Raveh will be responsible for implementing the faculty’s academic programs, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and research, and ensuring continued excellence while striving to improve the faculty’s achievements and reputation. Her unique perspective as an alumna will support the faculty’s constant effort to provide students and researchers with an optimal study and research environment. Prof. Raveh’s appointment is evidence of Technion’s commitment to nurturing and developing talents in its ranks. Her path in the faculty demonstrates the faculty’s efforts in training outstanding graduates who contribute significantly to aerospace sciences.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to assume the position of Dean in the Aerospace Engineering Faculty at the Technion,” said Prof. Raveh. “Having been a student in this esteemed institution, I am excited to contribute to the growth and success of the faculty. Prof. Tal Shima, the outgoing Dean, expressed his satisfaction with the appointment of Prof. Raveh and noted: “I had the honour of serving for four years as the Dean of the Technion’s Department of Aerospace Engineering. It was a challenging period and I am hopeful that we were successful in securing the future of the department for generations to come. As an alumni of the department, it was a privilege to work with members of our excellent academic, technical, and administrative staff, to educate and train the future generation of students, expand the boundaries of knowledge in our field, and contribute to the state of Israel and its security. I thank the management of the Technion and especially President Prof. Uri Sivan for the extensive support we have been receiving. I am confident that as Dean, Prof. Raveh, will excellently lead us to new heights.”
