Since the dawn of aviation there have been many attempts to build fixed-wing aircraft that take off and land vertically, called VTOLS. These aircraft solve the need for the use of runways, which create significant logistical bottlenecks in aircraft traffic, and affect the ability to reach the target point accurately and quickly.
Of all these aircraft developed, only four have been mass produced. All of these are military and suffer from high maintenance costs, limited take off ability in windy conditions, and low reliability.
