2018-2019 Excellence Ceremony

On Thursday, 23/1/20, a ceremony to celebrate the faculty’s outstanding students for the 2018-2019 academic year was held in our newly renovated auditorium. Certificates and prizes were awarded to students who excelled in their studies and research.

The Dean, Prof. Tal Shima, congratulated the students and their families, and Assoc. Prof. Dan Zelazo, the Undergraduate Studies Coordinator, was the MC. The ceremony was organized by Daphna Hershko, Undergraduate Studies and Teaching Secretary.

The Prof. Arnan Seginer Prize for Commendable Excellence in Research was awarded to Sahar Shpitz, for his research supervised by Dr. Yuval Levy, and Prizes for Excellence in Research were awarded to Eden Shazar, for his research led by Assoc. Prof. Moshe Idan, to Yuval Geyari, for his research led by Prof. Emeritus Barry Greenberg, and to Kadmiel Karsenty, for his research led by Prof. Eran Sher.

The prize in memory of Moshe and Sarah Rubin and Zeev and Naomi von Weisel was awarded to PhD student Neta Yokav, for outstanding research work led by Professor Emeritus Barry Greenberg.

The prize in memory of Dov Shimshon Cohen was awarded to PhD student Miel Sharf, for outstanding excellence in studies and research under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dan Zelazo.

The prize in memory of Ilan Sternberg for outstanding students or faculty members in the faculty of Aerospace Engineering, who combine their studies / research with playing the piano or other musical instruments with a preference for classical music, was awarded to Assoc. Prof. Avshalom Menla – a faculty member who combines excellence in research and playing the piano.

Ninety-six students, on the Dean’s and President’s lists during the previous winter and spring semesters, received certificates of appreciation.

Yuval Dana and Amit Gabay entertained us with a musical intermezzo.
