The Stephen B. Klein Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion is pleased to announce the promotion of Moshe Idan to the rank of Full Professor. Professor Idan is an internationally recognized researcher whose work has made significant contributions in the areas of estimation theory, flight control systems, and air traffic management. Over more than three decades at the Technion, he has contributed extensively to aerospace engineering research, education, and the training of generations of aerospace engineers and researchers. In addition to his research achievements, Professor Idan has consistently received outstanding evaluations from his students and has been recognized for excellence in teaching.
Professor Idan’s academic journey at the Technion began with his undergraduate and graduate studies, earning his B.Sc. (summa cum laude) in 1983 and his M.Sc. in 1986, both in Aeronautical Engineering. He subsequently pursued his doctoral studies at Stanford University, where he received his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1990. Following a prestigious Lady Davis Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Technion, he joined the Technion faculty in 1991.
Professor Idan’s research focuses on critical challenges in aerospace estimation and control. His key areas of expertise include:
