Ofir Akunis, Minister of Science, Technology and Space, visited ASRI on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 and met with Prof. Pini Gurfil, faculty member at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and head of ASRI.
Prof. Gurfil presented the institute’s activities to Minister Akunis and accompanied him on his visit to the Satellite Integration Lab, where he presented the SAMSON project’s engineering model to the minister.
This project, which is led by Prof. Gurfil and supported by the Israeli space industries, began as a student project in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and its main goal is to demonstrate long-term autonomous cluster flight of multiple satellites.
