The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology is ranked 25th in the world in Aerospace Engineering and 85th on the list of the world’s top academic institutions, first among all Israeli institutions, as determined by the world’s leading index for higher education, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), in the Shanghai Ranking, published in August 2019.
The annual Shanghai Ranking is considered the leading gauge of the world’s academic institutions. The Technion has consistently appeared in the Shanghai Ranking’s Top 100 since 2012 and has done so six times in the 2019 ranking, two of them in the Top 50:
- 25th place in Aerospace Engineering
- 39th place in Automation & Control
- And among the Top 100 in –
Computer Science | Chemistry | Electrical Engineering | Transportation Sciences
The Shanghai Ranking, published since 2003, grades academic institutions worldwide according to objective criteria, including the number of Nobel Prizes and prestigious awards, the number of scholarly articles published in the leading journals Nature and Science, and other factors relative to the size of the university. The in-depth study covers 1,200 universities, from which the top 500 are selected.
The list of the world’s top 500 universities is once again led by – Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, MIT and Berkeley.
