Guiding a team of pursuers to simultaneously intercept a target (Salvo-attack) is crucial when dealing with modern target defenses. The main objective of the current research is to develop cooperative guidance geometrical rules to achieve simultaneous interception of a stationary target by a team of heterogeneous pursuers, modelled with non-linear unicycle kinematics.

We will begin the talk with an introduction and an overview of existing impact time guidance laws. This will be followed by the presentation of the proposed cooperative geometrical rules that lead to simultaneous interception. The interception can occur either in the minimum possible time or in any larger desired impact time. For the minimum possible impact time geometrical rule, the communication topology between the pursuers follows a cyclic pursuit framework. For the desired impact time geometrical rules, the communication topology follows a leader-follower framework, where the leader imposes the desired impact time independent of the other pursuers in the system, and the followers modify their impact times according to that of the leader.

Finally, guidance laws to enforce the proposed geometrical rules will be introduced, while also taking into account heading errors. Simulation results will be presented during the talk to exemplify the theoretical results.

Light refreshments will be served before the lecture
